What's New

New Visa Regulations
As of July 2010, there have been some changes in the Argentine visa regulation system, particularly in the case of transitory visas for travellers going to Argentina for less than 90 days, who have to now comply with new regulations.

This is directed particularly to those who require a visa to enter Argentina for artistic, cultural, religious, professional and technical purposes. This category includes: technicians, priests, singers, journalists, sportsmen and scientists. Such travelers will have to comply with specific requirements, such as being invited from Argentina for their particular purpose for a month at most. The invitation has to come from a person or institution registered in the special registry “RENURE” by the DNM (Argentine migration agency). There are some other minor requirements which can be supplied by writing an email addressed to the Visa Section at visa@cgmum.co.in

Lately rigorous norms for the issual of visas have been established for those who receive a letter of invitation to visit Argentina, whether they are tourists, businessmen, scientists, artists, technicians, seamen, professionals, business executives and reporters (if they will be in Argentina for more than 30 days). The person or institution that invites the visa applicant needs to do the proceeding in Buenos Aires before the DNM. Once that proceeding is done, the DNM will send the hard copy of a Permiso de Ingreso (Entry Permit) to the visa applicant and the same document by intranet to the Consulate General. Once this procedure is complete, the Consulate General will provide the visa on the basis of appointment.
